Join Institute for Public Health Innovation (IPHI) as a Part-Time Food Systems Senior Coordinator (Contractor) in Prince George's County, Maryland, and help build equitable food systems that strengthen regional health and well-being.
The Opportunity
IPHI is seeking an experienced food systems professional to lead and coordinate multi-sector initiatives that advance food security, nutrition, and sustainable agricultural practices across the DC, Maryland, and Virginia region. In this part-time contractor role, you'll work with government agencies, nonprofits, community organizations, and private sector partners to develop and implement food systems solutions that improve health outcomes and reduce health disparities. This is a unique opportunity to drive meaningful change in how communities access, grow, and benefit from nutritious food.
What You'll Do
- Coordinate and manage food systems programs and partnerships involving multiple stakeholders across public health, nonprofit, and private sectors
- Develop and implement strategies and action plans to address food access, food security, and nutrition challenges
- Engage with community members, local leaders, and organizations to identify needs and co-create sustainable solutions
- Monitor program progress, collect and analyze data, and produce reports on initiative outcomes and public health impact
- Contribute to policy analysis and recommendations related to food systems, food security, and public health equity
- Support IPHI's mission to strengthen health systems, enhance health-promoting conditions, and build community capacity
What You Bring
- Demonstrated professional experience in food systems, public health, community development, nutrition, or related fields
- Strong partnership development and multi-sector stakeholder engagement abilities
- Experience managing programs, coordinating projects, and overseeing initiatives to completion
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Commitment to advancing health equity and reducing health disparities in underserved communities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a flexible, part-time capacity
- Knowledge of food systems, food policy, or community health approaches is valued
