About the Role
This is a full-time, over-the-road (OTR) position centered on West Coast refrigerated (reefer) freight. The role is based out of North Charleston, Charleston County, and is not a remote position.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a Class A vehicle safely on West Coast reefer runs and other OTR lanes
- Transport refrigerated freight while maintaining proper temperature settings and load integrity
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections to keep equipment road-ready
- Plan routes, manage hours of service, and deliver shipments on schedule
- Maintain accurate logs, paperwork, and delivery documentation
- Communicate clearly with dispatch, customers, and brokers throughout each trip
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Experience with OTR driving and, ideally, refrigerated (reefer) freight
- Comfort with extended West Coast and long-haul routes
- Willingness to work as a 1099 independent contractor
- Strong commitment to safety, reliability, and on-time delivery
