About the Role

As a Class A reefer driver with Southland Transportation, you'll handle regional refrigerated freight, keeping temperature-sensitive loads moving safely and on schedule for our customers and broker partners across the United States. This is a full-time, W2 position serving the North Charleston, Charleston County area, offering the consistency and earning potential of regional driving without the unpredictability of long over-the-road life.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate a Class A tractor-trailer with refrigerated (reefer) equipment on regional routes.
• Monitor and maintain proper trailer temperatures to protect freight integrity throughout transit.
• Complete pickups and deliveries accurately, on time, and in line with customer requirements.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report any equipment or maintenance concerns.
• Follow all DOT regulations, hours-of-service rules, and company safety standards.
• Communicate clearly with dispatch, customers, and brokers to keep deliveries running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• Verifiable driving experience, ideally with refrigerated freight.
• Clean driving record and a strong commitment to safety.
• Ability to work full-time on regional runs and meet delivery schedules.
• Reliable, professional, and able to work independently on the road.
