Position Summary

The Oral Surgeon will deliver specialized surgical care for patients in the Reno community while working on a part-time basis. This role centers on precise diagnosis, treatment planning, and execution of oral and maxillofacial procedures, supporting overall oral health outcomes without remote or hybrid options. Success depends on clinical excellence, clear patient communication, and seamless coordination within the care setting.

Core Duties

• Evaluate patient medical histories and conduct thorough examinations to determine the need for surgical intervention on the teeth, jaws, and facial structures.
• Plan and perform oral surgical procedures such as extractions, implant placements, biopsies, and corrective jaw operations with precision and adherence to safety protocols.
• Administer local or general anesthesia as appropriate and monitor intraoperative patient responses.
• Provide pre-operative consultations and post-operative instructions, addressing recovery, pain management, and follow-up care.
• Collaborate with referring dentists and other specialists to coordinate comprehensive treatment plans.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation, surgical records, and compliance with all applicable regulations.

Skills & Qualifications

• Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) degree from an accredited institution.
• Successful completion of an accredited oral and maxillofacial surgery residency program.
• Current unrestricted license to practice as an Oral Surgeon, with eligibility to practice in Nevada.
• Demonstrated proficiency in surgical techniques, diagnostic imaging interpretation, and evidence-based treatment approaches.
• Strong interpersonal skills for educating patients and building trust in a clinical environment.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team while managing part-time clinical demands in Reno, NV.
