About the Role
We're seeking a skilled Mechanical System Design Engineer to drive the design and development of mechanical systems that support our critical work across nuclear, energy, and aerospace applications. You'll be responsible for creating innovative solutions that meet rigorous safety, performance, and regulatory standards while collaborating with cross-functional teams of engineers and subject matter experts. Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical system design, analysis, and optimization using industry-standard CAD and simulation tools
- Develop detailed design documentation, drawings, specifications, and technical reports
- Conduct feasibility studies and design trade-off analyses to support engineering decisions
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams including electrical, software, and systems engineers
- Support prototype development, testing, and validation activities
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements
- Contribute to continuous improvement of design processes and methodologies
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline
- Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent platforms
- Strong foundation in mechanical principles, materials, and thermodynamics
- Demonstrated experience with system design, modeling, and analysis
- Excellent communication and technical writing skills
