CompHealth is hiring a full-time locums anesthesiologist to deliver surgical and emergency anesthesia care at our Downey, Los Angeles County location. About the Role

As a locums anesthesiologist in Downey, you'll provide comprehensive anesthesia services across operating rooms and emergency settings. Your dedicated recruiter serves as your primary contact and coordinates all support services—housing, travel arrangements, credentialing, and licensing—so you can concentrate on delivering excellent clinical outcomes.

What You'll Do

• Evaluate patients pre-operatively and conduct thorough anesthesia risk assessments
• Administer general, regional, and local anesthesia using contemporary techniques
• Monitor vital signs, oxygenation, ventilation, and hemodynamics throughout procedures
• Manage airway control, intubation, and ventilator management as needed
• Collaborate with surgeons, nursing staff, and surgical teams in dynamic OR environments
• Provide post-operative pain management and recovery supervision
• Maintain comprehensive medical documentation and records

What We're Looking For

• MD or DO with completion of an accredited Anesthesiology residency
• Board certification in Anesthesiology or board eligible status
• Current, unrestricted California medical license
• Active DEA registration
• Valid BLS and ACLS certifications
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills in fast-paced settings
