About the Role

Direct Counsel is seeking a dedicated and experienced legal assistant to join its growing law firm in Glendale, California. The firm specializes in plaintiff's side wage-and-hour class action litigation and has a robust caseload against regional, national, and Fortune 500 companies across multiple industries.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Support attorneys with case management tasks including document review, organization, and preparation for hearings and trials.
• Assist in the drafting of legal documents such as motions, briefs, and pleadings under attorney supervision.
• Maintain accurate records and files for ongoing cases, ensuring compliance with court rules and deadlines.
• Coordinate with clients to gather necessary information and evidence relevant to their case.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 1-3 years' experience as a legal assistant or paralegal in litigation.
• Familiarity with wage-and-hour laws, particularly those related to class action suits.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously under tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with clients and colleagues.
