Role Overview
As the Lead Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) - Urgent Care (Per Diem) at ConvenientMD in Bellingham, Massachusetts, you will deliver efficient, high-quality care while serving as the primary clinical leader for clinic personnel. Key Responsibilities
- Carry out full patient assessments that include interviews, physical examinations, and history reviews to manage both immediate and longer-term concerns with consistent quality and efficiency.
- Order diagnostic studies such as imaging, electrocardiograms, and laboratory work, then analyze findings to identify abnormal conditions.
- Perform procedures that include injections, immunizations, suturing, and management of wounds or infections.
- Provide clear education and counseling so patients understand their conditions, treatment plans, growth and development milestones, family planning options, and general wellness strategies.
- Create complete, accurate electronic medical records for every patient, entering, editing, and signing all notes and reports according to organizational standards.
- Uphold a safe, hygienic workspace by following infection-control protocols along with company, state, and federal rules.
- Partner closely with fellow providers and clinical staff to coordinate timely treatment plans and dispositions, including transfers when appropriate.
- Step into clinic leadership when the Practice Manager is away, mentor new-graduate providers and other team members, and serve as a preceptor who shares knowledge and experiential learning opportunities.
- Sustain professional expertise through workshops, literature review, professional networks, and society involvement.
Who We're Looking For
- Master’s degree plus current certification from an NP certifying body.
- Unrestricted DEA registration that is kept current.
- Basic Life Support credential issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross (CPR, ACLS, or completely online courses are not accepted).
- Preferred prior experience in emergency medicine, urgent care, or ambulatory settings.
- Demonstrated willingness and skill to mentor both provider and non-provider clinic team members.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a cohesive team.
- Proactive, confident written and verbal communication that surfaces issues early and addresses them directly with colleagues and patients.
- Genuine compassion and patient focus that fosters kindness and a sense of belonging.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and electronic medical record systems.
- Solid working knowledge of customer-service principles, HIPAA, OSHA, and other relevant federal, state, and local regulations, drug properties and processes, non-pharmaceutical care aids, and current methods of medical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment.
