About the Role
As the Layton Dairy MFG Refrigeration Maintenance Technician, you will safeguard the dependable operation of the plant's refrigeration and facility systems. Based at the East Layton, Davis County dairy manufacturing site, you will combine preventive care, predictive monitoring, and rapid repair to minimize downtime and protect product quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain, service, and troubleshoot the ammonia refrigeration system to ensure safe, efficient performance.
- Care for air compressor, boiler, and plant refrigeration (non-ammonia) systems through routine upkeep and timely repair.
- Support fire protection and electrical switchgear systems to keep facility safety standards intact.
- Manage the sanitary dissolved air flotation (DAF) system along with HVAC equipment.
- Oversee general buildings, grounds, and facility infrastructure.
- Carry out preventive and predictive maintenance, system upgrades, diagnostics, and corrective repairs in line with established procedures.
Qualifications
- Practical experience maintaining and troubleshooting industrial refrigeration, with familiarity in ammonia-based systems.
- Working knowledge of compressors, boilers, electrical switchgear, fire protection, and HVAC equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and a methodical approach to diagnosing and resolving equipment faults.
- Commitment to safety, compliance, and dependable preventive maintenance practices.
- Ability to work full-time on-site at the East Layton, Davis County facility.
