About the Role

As a Labor and Employment Law Attorney with Peters & Kappenman, P.A., you will partner with employer clients across the Minneapolis, Ottawa County area on the full spectrum of labor and employment matters. The position blends litigation work with proactive counseling, making it ideal for an attorney who enjoys both the strategy of the courtroom and the problem-solving of day-to-day advisory work. Compensation for this full-time role ranges from $115,000 to $170,000 per year.

Key Responsibilities

• Represent employers in labor and employment litigation from initial filings through resolution
• Advise clients on employment counseling, workplace policy, and risk management
• Guide businesses through compliance with applicable labor and employment regulations
• Draft, review, and negotiate employment-related agreements and documentation
• Build trusted, long-term relationships with employer clients

Qualifications

• 2 to 8 years of practicing experience in labor and employment law
• Demonstrated litigation background with hands-on case management
• Comfort advising employers on counseling and compliance questions
• Corporate transactional and/or construction-related experience viewed as a plus
• Strong analytical, drafting, and client-communication skills
• Active license to practice law and the motivation to grow within a collaborative team
