About This Position
This position is a freelance opportunity with The Walt Disney Company at ABC7 KGO-TV in the Bay Area. As a Freelance News Photographer, you will contribute to producing over 45 hours of live newscasts every week, focusing on delivering breaking news, weather updates, and live video content across various platforms.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Capture high-quality images for local news segments
- Provide timely and accurate coverage of events and incidents in the Bay Area
- Work collaboratively with other members of the ABC7 Eyewitness News team to ensure seamless production of newscasts
- Contribute to live streaming and on-air broadcasts as needed
What You Bring
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in news photography or a related field
- Proficiency with digital cameras, video equipment, and photo editing software
- Strong understanding of local news dynamics and the ability to quickly adapt to breaking news situations
- Excellent communication skills for working closely with producers and anchors
