QIMA is seeking a dedicated Quality Inspector to join our team in Rancagua, O'Higgins, Chile. In this full-time role, you'll ensure fresh fruit exports meet rigorous US and international quality standards.
The Opportunity
As a Quality Inspector of Fresh Fruit at QIMA in Rancagua, you'll play a critical role in our supply chain quality assurance. Your expertise will safeguard compliance for fresh fruit destined for US markets, protecting both our clients' reputations and consumer safety. This position offers hands-on inspection work, direct client interaction, and the opportunity to advance quality management practices across one of Chile's most productive agricultural regions.
Responsibilities
- Conduct visual and physical inspections of fresh fruit shipments against US import standards and client specifications
- Document findings, test results, and inspection reports using company quality management systems
- Identify defects, foreign material, and non-conformities; recommend corrective actions
- Communicate inspection results to packing facilities, exporters, and international clients
- Support pre-shipment verification and compliance audits at local production facilities
- Maintain calibrated inspection equipment and adhere to food safety protocols
- Collaborate with quality teams to address recurring issues and drive continuous improvement
Skills & Qualifications
- Technical knowledge of fresh fruit grades, defects, and US quality standards (USDA, FDA, or equivalent)
- Attention to detail and ability to work accurately under time pressure
- Spanish and English proficiency (oral and written)
- Physical capability to inspect fruit at various heights and in diverse facility environments
- Familiarity with quality management systems and documentation practices
- Strong communication skills and professional demeanor when working with internal and external clients
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in agriculture, quality assurance, or a related field is preferred
