HVAC Refrigeration Service Technician

Nextech North America is hiring an HVAC Refrigeration Service Technician to join our growing team in Blackhawk Village, Black Hawk County. This is a full-time position for a skilled technician ready to take the next step in their career, complete with a sign-on bonus and the chance to earn seasonal bonuses.

What This Role Involves

In this hands-on position, you'll service heating and cooling systems, as well as commercial refrigeration equipment, for customers throughout the region. Your work will span residential installations and repairs, commercial system maintenance, emergency calls, and preventive maintenance. You'll be the problem-solver who diagnoses what's wrong and executes the fix—whether that's replacing components, recharging refrigerant, or optimizing system performance. The role demands both technical expertise and genuine customer service skills, as you'll be the face of Nextech when you're on-site.

Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, service, and repair HVAC and refrigeration systems
• Diagnose system failures using appropriate testing equipment and troubleshooting methods
• Perform routine preventive maintenance to extend equipment life and efficiency
• Handle refrigerant charging, recovery, and other EPA-regulated procedures
• Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized diagnostic equipment safely and competently
• Follow all safety protocols and industry standards on every job
• Document work completed and explain repairs clearly to customers
• Respond to service requests and handle time-sensitive emergency calls

Qualifications

• EPA Section 608 certification (or willingness to obtain it shortly after hire)
• Hands-on experience working with HVAC and refrigeration systems, or equivalent technical training and apprenticeship
• Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle for travel to customer locations
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot complex systems
• Physical capability to lift heavy equipment and work in outdoor and confined spaces
• Clear communication skills and a service-oriented attitude toward customers
• Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule in the field
