Fluor is seeking an experienced HVAC Design Engineer III to join our team in Conestee, Greenville County. As a full-time design engineer, you'll lead the thermal systems design and optimization for industrial and infrastructure projects, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative climate control solutions that meet the highest performance and efficiency standards.

About the Role

In this position, you will take ownership of HVAC system design and engineering from concept through execution. You'll be responsible for developing comprehensive heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems that support Fluor's diverse portfolio of industrial, commercial, and infrastructure projects. This role requires both technical depth and the ability to mentor junior engineers while driving projects toward successful completion.

What You'll Do

  • Design and develop HVAC systems, including load calculations, equipment sizing, and ductwork layout
  • Create detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
  • Conduct system analysis and optimization to ensure energy efficiency and compliance with applicable codes and standards
  • Collaborate with architects, mechanical engineers, and project managers to integrate HVAC solutions into overall project scope
  • Support procurement and vendor coordination for HVAC equipment and materials
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and implement solutions during design and construction phases
  • Mentor and review work of junior engineering staff

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Engineering, or related discipline
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or demonstrated path to licensure
  • 7+ years of experience designing HVAC systems for commercial or industrial projects
  • Proficiency with CAD software and HVAC design tools
  • Strong understanding of ASHRAE standards, building codes, and energy regulations
  • Excellent project management, communication, and leadership skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
