Healthy Families Home Visitor

Family Building Blocks is hiring a full-time Healthy Families Home Visitor in Salem, Marion County. In this role, you'll bring early childhood expertise and bilingual skills directly into families' homes, making a measurable difference in child development and family stability.

Role Overview

As a Healthy Families Home Visitor, you are the bridge between evidenced-based child development practices and real families across Salem. You'll conduct regular home visits, assess family strengths and needs, and connect families to local resources and support systems. This position is central to the Healthy Families program's mission of supporting early childhood development and promoting family wellness throughout Marion County.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Conduct regular, sustained home visits with assigned families in the Salem area
• Perform developmental screenings and assessments for young children
• Provide evidence-based guidance on parenting practices and child development milestones
• Connect families with community resources, health services, and support networks
• Document visit progress and family outcomes in program records
• Collaborate with program leadership and interdisciplinary teams to support family goals
• Build trusting relationships with families to foster engagement and program participation

Requirements

• Fluent in English and Spanish (written and verbal)
• High school diploma or GED
• Valid driver's license and reliable personal transportation
• Ability to work independently in family homes and maintain professional boundaries
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Commitment to confidentiality and ethical practice
• Willingness to learn and apply home visiting best practices
