About the Role
The Head of Public Policy drives Braven's external affairs strategy, working across federal and state policy landscapes to expand access to education and workforce development. What You'll Do
- Develop and execute public policy strategy aligned with Braven's mission and organizational goals
- Build and maintain relationships with policymakers, regulatory agencies, and stakeholder organizations at federal, state, and local levels
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments affecting education and workforce development; identify strategic opportunities and threats
- Lead communications and advocacy efforts targeting key policy audiences and decision-makers
- Collaborate with internal teams—program, communications, and senior leadership—to ensure policy initiatives support organizational objectives
- Represent Braven in policy forums, coalitions, and public advocacy efforts
- Conduct policy research and provide strategic counsel to organizational leadership
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in public policy, government relations, legislative affairs, or external affairs roles
- Deep understanding of federal, state, and local policy processes and stakeholder decision-making
- Demonstrated success building and influencing relationships with policymakers and organizations
- Strategic thinking and ability to translate policy landscape into organizational opportunities
- Excellent communication and advocacy skills—written and verbal
- Experience leading teams and managing cross-functional initiatives
- Genuine passion for expanding educational access and opportunity for students
