Head of Claims

Lyft is hiring a Head of Claims in Custom House, Orleans Parish to lead our claims management operations. In this full-time role, you'll oversee all aspects of claims handling and risk management for a major mobility platform, building and scaling a high-performance team in one of the industry's most dynamic, high-volume environments.

About the Role

You'll serve as the general manager of Lyft's claims function, owning strategy, execution, and team performance across all claims workflows. This is a hands-on leadership position combining strategic vision with operational excellence. You'll navigate the complexity of modern mobility claims while driving continuous improvement and building a world-class claims organization.

What You'll Do

• Lead, mentor, and scale a dedicated claims team while establishing performance culture and hiring top talent
• Own end-to-end claims operations including intake, triage, investigation, resolution, and closure processes
• Develop and execute claims management strategy aligned with Lyft's business objectives and risk profile
• Establish key performance metrics, reporting dashboards, and analytics to drive accountability and identify improvement opportunities
• Partner with legal, insurance, safety, and business teams to address complex liability and risk matters
• Manage relationships with insurance carriers, adjusters, and outside counsel to optimize claims outcomes and recovery
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards across all claims handling
• Evaluate and implement process improvements and technology solutions to handle high-volume claims efficiently

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of claims management or insurance operations experience with proven leadership track record
• Experience scaling teams and building operational processes in high-volume environments
• Strong expertise in claims processing, loss prevention, liability management, and risk mitigation
• Comfort with data analysis, metrics, and using insights to drive decision-making
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Knowledge of insurance industry practices, liability frameworks, and regulatory compliance
• Adaptability and resilience in fast-paced, evolving business conditions
