About This Position

Amerisafe is seeking a detail-oriented and productivity-driven professional to join our Chicago-based Workers Compensation Claims Team. As a Field Case Manager, you will conduct on-site and in-person investigations, determine compensability, establish reserves, document decision-making processes, issue benefit payments, and make notifications to the State administrative authority.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough on-site and in-person investigations of workers' compensation claims
• Determine the compensability of each claim based on evidence gathered during investigations
• Establish appropriate reserves for each case, ensuring financial stability and compliance with regulations
• Document all decision-making processes and communicate findings to relevant parties
• Issue timely benefit payments as per established guidelines and policies
• Notify the State administrative authority of any significant developments or changes in claim status

What You Bring

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in workers' compensation claims handling, with a focus on field investigations
• Strong investigative and analytical skills to assess the validity and extent of injuries or illnesses
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with injured workers, employers, and other stakeholders
• Able to work independently while adhering to strict deadlines and regulatory requirements
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and claims management software
