About the Role

As a Family Peer Support Provider Level 1 at Variety Care, you'll work with families receiving home and community-based services. Your role combines lived experience and professional training to help families connect with resources, overcome barriers, and build resilience. You'll partner with licensed clinical supervisors to ensure safe, effective support that honors family autonomy while maintaining appropriate safety protocols and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide advocacy and emotional support to program participants and their families
• Identify and facilitate connections to community resources, services, and treatment options
• Assist families with education, skill-building, and recovery-focused planning
• Develop and implement crisis support strategies and safety planning with families
• Document interactions, progress, and outcomes in compliance with program documentation standards
• Participate in team meetings and maintain professional collaboration with clinical supervisors and colleagues
• Support families in achieving their identified goals through consistent, reliable presence and accountability

What You Bring

• Lived experience with mental health, substance use recovery, or family systems challenges
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a genuine desire to help
• Ability to work with diverse families and demonstrate cultural humility
• Reliability, accountability, and commitment to maintaining professional boundaries
• Willingness to learn, grow, and work effectively within a supervised clinical environment
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for home and community-based visits
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; relevant peer certification or equivalent training a plus
