Families in Transition Support Coordinator (Bilingual English/Spanish REQUIRED)

Lucia Mar Unified School District is hiring a full-time Families in Transition Support Coordinator (bilingual English/Spanish required) based at the Oceano Community Center. This essential support role helps families navigate school transitions and connect with district resources that make a real difference in student stability and success.

The Opportunity

As a Families in Transition Support Coordinator, you'll be the consistent, knowledgeable resource families turn to during pivotal moments in their school journey. Working full-time at the Oceano Community Center, you'll manage family cases, maintain detailed records, and bridge communication between households and school staff—directly supporting student outcomes and family wellbeing through organized, compassionate coordination.

Your Responsibilities

• Manage and organize family case files and support documentation using filing systems and office databases
• Respond to family inquiries and provide accurate information about district services and programs in English and Spanish
• Facilitate communication between families, school personnel, and community partners to coordinate ongoing support
• Maintain detailed, accurate records of family needs, interventions, and progress outcomes
• Assist families with enrollment paperwork, application processes, and administrative transitions
• Support general office and program operations as directed

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish (written and verbal)—essential to serve our bilingual families effectively
• Minimum one year of office experience, including competency in filing, record-keeping, and data organization
• Valid California driver's license
• Strong communication skills and ability to work respectfully with diverse families and school teams
• Comfort with standard office technology and software
