Electrical Project Engineer

The Osborn Engineering Co is hiring an Electrical Project Engineer for its Observatory, Allegheny County office. This full-time position offers the opportunity to lead electrical design initiatives for complex building systems within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary consulting environment.

The Opportunity

Join a fully integrated design firm where you'll apply your electrical engineering expertise across diverse project types. You'll work alongside architects, mechanical engineers, and other disciplines to deliver cohesive, efficient building solutions. Reporting to the Manager of Electrical Engineering, you'll take on increasing responsibility for project delivery, client relationships, and technical direction. This role is ideal for an engineer with 4–7 years of hands-on experience who is ready to deepen your career in a consulting setting.

Responsibilities

• Manage electrical design projects from schematic development through construction documents
• Prepare electrical plans, specifications, and calculations using industry-standard software
• Coordinate with architects and other engineering disciplines to integrate electrical systems into overall building design
• Lead site visits and client presentations to communicate design intent and address field conditions
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to firm quality assurance processes
• Stay current with electrical codes, industry standards, and evolving design practices

Skills & Qualifications

• 4–7 years of professional electrical engineering experience in consulting or similar environment
• Advanced proficiency with Revit for electrical modeling and design documentation
• Strong foundation in electrical systems design, power distribution, lighting, and life safety systems
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent professional experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or demonstrated ability to pursue licensure
• Knowledge of national electrical codes and local building standards
