EHS Specialist

Amazon is seeking an EHS Specialist to join our Chandler, Maricopa County facility. In this full-time role, you'll lead workplace safety initiatives and help establish Amazon as a benchmark for occupational health and safety excellence.

Role Overview

As an EHS Specialist at our Chandler location, you'll be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive environmental health and safety programs. You'll partner with operations leadership to identify workplace hazards, assess risk levels, and design practical solutions that prevent incidents and protect our team members. Your work directly supports Amazon's commitment to becoming Earth's safest place to work across all industries in which we operate.

Your Responsibilities

• Conduct regular workplace assessments, safety audits, and inspections to identify hazards and compliance gaps
• Develop and deliver safety training programs covering protocols, emergency procedures, and regulatory requirements
• Investigate workplace incidents and near-misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of safety metrics, incident reports, and regulatory compliance records
• Collaborate with facility management and team leaders to foster a strong, proactive safety culture
• Monitor trends in occupational safety data and recommend preventive measures
• Support emergency preparedness planning and response coordination

What You Bring

• Solid knowledge of OSHA regulations, occupational safety standards, and environmental compliance requirements
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across all organizational levels
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail
• Proven capability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety, or related discipline (or equivalent professional experience)
• Professional safety certifications such as CSP, ASP, or CHCM preferred
