Education Service Center Region 13 is recruiting a full-time Educational Associate for Special Education Life Skills with Pflugerville Independent School District in the US. As a paraprofessional educator, you'll support students in developing practical, daily living skills essential for independence and meaningful participation in their communities.
About the Role
As an Educational Associate in our Special Education Life Skills program, you'll work directly with students who need targeted instruction and support in functional academics, self-care, social interaction, and community participation. This position is part of our 2026-2027 staff pool, offering stable employment and growth opportunities within our special education services.
What You'll Do
- Support students in developing and practicing life skills including personal hygiene, meal preparation, money management, and community access
- Assist special education teachers in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and instructional strategies
- Facilitate hands-on learning activities that promote student independence and functional abilities
- Support classroom management and maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment for students
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families to ensure coordinated, comprehensive student support
- Help students apply life skills in real-world settings and community-based learning opportunities
