Education Service Center Region 13 is hiring a full-time First Grade Teacher at Shady Grove Elementary in Burnet CISD for the 2026–2027 school year — a rewarding opportunity to shape the foundational learning experiences of young students on a PK–2nd grade campus.
About the Role
As a First Grade Teacher at Shady Grove Elementary, you will design and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction in core academic subjects, guiding first graders as they build the literacy, numeracy, and critical-thinking skills that set the stage for lifelong learning. This is an in-person, campus-based position within Burnet CISD.
What You'll Do
- Plan and execute daily lessons aligned to grade-level curriculum standards that meet the academic and developmental needs of first grade students
- Deliver differentiated instruction in core subjects — reading, writing, and mathematics — to help every student reach their full potential
- Monitor and assess student progress using formal and informal methods, adjusting instruction to close learning gaps
- Foster a structured, positive, and inclusive classroom environment where students feel safe and motivated to learn
- Maintain open, consistent communication with families regarding student growth, behavior, and academic performance
- Collaborate with grade-level teammates, instructional coaches, and campus leadership to support school-wide initiatives
- Participate in professional development and campus events that strengthen the Shady Grove Elementary community
What We're Looking For
- Valid Texas educator certification in elementary education or a related area (or eligibility to obtain certification)
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
- Demonstrated ability to engage young learners through creative, research-informed instructional strategies
- Strong classroom management skills with a warm, student-centered approach
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for working with students, families, and colleagues
- Commitment to continuous professional growth and data-informed teaching practice
- Prior experience teaching at the elementary level is a plus
