About This Position

The Donor Relations Specialist plays a critical role in building and maintaining relationships with donors to support the mission of the Maryland SPCA. Reporting to the Development Operations Manager, this full-time position offers a salary range of $40,000-$48,000 and is exempt from FLSA regulations.

Your Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain donor relationships through regular communication and engagement
  • Identify potential donors and assist in the cultivation process to secure financial support for the organization's programs and initiatives
  • Organize and manage donor events, including planning, coordination, and follow-up
  • Prepare reports and updates on donor interactions and progress towards fundraising goals
  • Collaborate with development team members to ensure consistent messaging and strategies in donor relations efforts

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent experience in nonprofit fundraising or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in donor relations, cultivation, or similar roles
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software preferred
  • A passion for animal welfare and a commitment to the mission of the Maryland SPCA
