South Washington County Schools is hiring a District Special Education Flex Paraprofessional to support students with special needs at Red Rock Elementary School. This is a full-time position beginning September 2, 2026, offering the opportunity to help students overcome learning challenges while working as part of a dedicated special education team.
About the Role
As a Special Education Flex Paraprofessional, you'll provide direct support to students with disabilities, working closely with special education teachers and classroom staff. This role combines consistent assignment at Red Rock Elementary with flexibility to meet students' needs across the school and district. You'll help students access the curriculum, develop independence, and build social and behavioral skills in an inclusive environment.
What You'll Do
- Deliver one-on-one and small-group instructional support based on IEP goals
- Assist with behavior management and reinforce positive support strategies
- Help students with academic content, study skills, and classroom routines
- Support student transitions, self-care, and independence throughout the school day
- Adapt learning materials and activities to match individual learning styles and abilities
- Document and communicate student progress to special education staff
- Maintain confidentiality and follow all IEP and district special education procedures
