Director of Purchasing/Procurement – Heavy Civil Construction

Talent Collaborative Group seeks an experienced Director of Purchasing and Procurement to lead sourcing and procurement strategy in Littleton, Middlesex County, Massachusetts. This full-time executive role oversees all materials acquisition, vendor management, and supply chain operations for a respected heavy civil construction company.

Role Overview

As Director of Purchasing and Procurement, you'll direct the complete procurement function for an established infrastructure and heavy civil construction firm. This leadership position shapes strategic sourcing initiatives, vendor relationships, and supply chain performance across the enterprise. You'll report to executive leadership and influence purchasing decisions that directly impact project success and company profitability.

Core Duties

• Establish and implement strategic purchasing plans aligned with project schedules and business objectives
• Lead vendor evaluation, selection, and relationship management for materials and equipment procurement
• Supervise the procurement team to ensure operational standards, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement
• Assess supplier performance and market conditions to identify cost savings and mitigate supply chain risks
• Coordinate with project management, construction teams, and finance to forecast material and equipment needs
• Manage contracts, procurement procedures, and legal compliance across heavy civil construction operations

Who We're Looking For

• 7–10 years of procurement or purchasing leadership in heavy civil construction or comparable industries
• Demonstrated success managing procurement operations and teams with significant budget responsibility
• Deep knowledge of construction materials, equipment, and established supplier networks
• Proficiency in vendor negotiation, contract administration, and strategic cost management
• Understanding of supply chain logistics, inventory planning, and procurement regulations
• Track record building and retaining high-performing procurement teams
• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, procurement, or business administration preferred
