Lutheran Community Services Northwest seeks an experienced Director of Housing Development to lead our housing initiatives in Seattle, King County. This full-time position offers the opportunity to advance housing solutions for the vulnerable populations we serve.
About the Role
As Director of Housing Development, you'll oversee the planning, development, and expansion of housing programs that provide stable, supportive housing to individuals and families throughout our community. This leadership role combines strategic vision with hands-on collaboration across our organization to create sustainable housing solutions.
What You'll Do
- Develop and execute long-term housing development strategies aligned with organizational goals
- Identify funding opportunities and manage grant applications for housing initiatives
- Partner with city, county, and state agencies to navigate zoning and regulatory requirements
- Coordinate with program teams serving refugees, immigrants, aging adults, and people with disabilities to ensure housing meets client needs
- Oversee budget planning and financial management for housing projects
- Build and maintain relationships with housing partners, nonprofits, and community organizations
- Lead staff and manage day-to-day operations of housing development activities
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in housing, nonprofit management, urban planning, or related field; advanced degree preferred
- 5+ years of experience in housing development, nonprofit leadership, or related sector
- Demonstrated success securing funding and managing capital projects
- Knowledge of affordable housing, supportive housing, and community development programs
- Strong project management and financial acumen
- Experience working with vulnerable and underserved populations
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
