Director of Accounting

Industrious, the world's largest premium flexible workspace provider, is hiring a Director of Accounting to lead its finance operations from New York City, New York. This full-time, on-site leadership role is ideal for a seasoned accounting professional ready to shape the financial backbone of a fast-scaling, global organization.

About the Role

As Director of Accounting at Industrious in New York City, you will own the day-to-day accounting function and help guide financial strategy across a business that operates more than 250 workspace locations in 10 countries. You'll partner closely with leadership to ensure accuracy, compliance, and clarity in everything from monthly close to financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct the accounting team and oversee the full month-end and year-end close process.
• Maintain accurate general ledger records and ensure adherence to GAAP standards.
• Prepare and review financial statements, reconciliations, and management reports.
• Strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and operational workflows.
• Coordinate audits, tax filings, and regulatory compliance activities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to support budgeting and forecasting.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading an accounting team or function, ideally within a multi-location or multinational business.
• Strong command of GAAP, financial reporting, and close management.
• A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA designation is a strong advantage.
• Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication abilities.
• Comfort working on-site in New York City as part of a collaborative team.
