About the Role

As a Direct Support Professional I, you will work weekend shifts driving students to activities, appointments, and home visits while offering assistance that promotes their well‑being and personal growth. The schedule consists of Saturday and Sunday shifts from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, with possible adjustments based on travel times. The position offers an hourly wage between $21.00 and $22.92, plus a pro‑rated $4,000 sign‑on bonus for new hires.

What You'll Do

• Provide reliable transportation for students in a vehicle that meets all safety standards.
• Assist youth with daily living tasks, personal hygiene, and meal preparation during outings.
• Implement individualized care plans under the guidance of supervising staff.
• Maintain accurate logs of mileage, attendance, and any incidents that occur during shifts.
• Communicate observations and updates to the care team to ensure continuity of support.
• Foster a positive, respectful environment that encourages youth participation and independence.
• Participate in regular team meetings and training sessions to stay current on best practices.
• Perform routine vehicle checks and report maintenance needs to ensure safe operation.

What We're Looking For

• A high school diploma or equivalent; additional coursework in human services, psychology, or education is advantageous.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass a background check.
• Experience working with children or adolescents, preferably in a residential or therapeutic setting.
• Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and the ability to remain calm in dynamic situations.
• Commitment to upholding confidentiality and following all agency policies and procedures.
• Availability to work the scheduled weekend hours, including potential shift variations.
• Ability to follow written protocols and complete documentation using basic computer tools.
• Willingness to engage in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
