Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Carry out routine milking procedures using plant and parlour systems while ensuring udder health and milk quality.
• Prepare and distribute feed, manage pasture grazing rotations, and supervise water supply for the dairy herd.
• Observe livestock for signs of illness, lameness or reproductive changes and organise prompt veterinary follow-up when required.
• Clean and sanitise milking equipment, yards, sheds and storage areas to maintain strict hygiene standards.
• Operate tractors, feed wagons and other farm machinery for paddock and infrastructure tasks.
• Record herd performance data, treatments and production figures accurately for management review.
• Assist with calving, calf rearing and general husbandry activities throughout the dairy cycle.

Requirements

• Possession of an AQF Certificate II or III in Agriculture, or an equivalent recognised qualification.
• A minimum of one year of recent, relevant experience working with dairy cattle or in comparable farm operations.
• Practical ability to perform physically demanding outdoor tasks across varying weather conditions.
• Competence with common agricultural machinery and a readiness to follow workplace safety protocols.
• Sound animal-handling skills and the capacity to work both independently and as part of a farm team.
