Custodian

Sweetwater County is seeking a dedicated Custodian to maintain the cleanliness, safety, and professional appearance of county facilities in Rock Springs. This full-time position offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on the daily operations and environment of our public buildings.

Position Summary

As a Custodian for Sweetwater County, you'll work under general supervision to keep assigned buildings clean, sanitary, and welcoming for staff and the public. You'll maintain both interior spaces and exterior grounds, ensuring county facilities meet high standards for cleanliness and upkeep. This role is essential to supporting the county's mission to serve the Rock Springs community effectively.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain floors through sweeping, scrubbing, stripping, and waxing to preserve condition and safety
• Dust, polish, and care for furniture, woodwork, and other interior surfaces
• Empty, clean, and maintain waste receptacles throughout assigned buildings
• Wash windows, glass surfaces, and mirrors to professional standards
• Prepare meeting rooms and event spaces for county functions and public gatherings
• Maintain grounds surrounding buildings, including parking lots, sidewalks, and exterior areas
• Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies and materials as needed
• Report maintenance issues or facility concerns to supervisors
