Cook – Saltgrass Steakhouse

Danville Development is hiring a full-time Cook for Saltgrass Steakhouse, located in Central Park, Vermilion County. We're seeking a skilled Cook to join our steakhouse kitchen and help deliver outstanding dining experiences.

About the Role

As a Cook at Saltgrass Steakhouse, you'll prepare quality meals during assigned shifts in our busy steakhouse kitchen. Working closely with the Chef and culinary team, you'll maintain high standards for food preparation, consistency, and plate presentation. Your technical skills and commitment to food safety will be critical to our operation's success.

What You'll Do

• Cook and plate menu items—steaks, proteins, and sides—to established recipes and presentation standards
• Manage your assigned kitchen station, monitoring cooking temperatures, organizing ingredients, and maintaining cleanliness
• Prepare food efficiently during service periods while sustaining quality and consistency
• Follow food safety, sanitation, health code, and Illinois Gaming Board compliance requirements
• Coordinate with kitchen team members to ensure smooth, timely service flow
• Perform prep work, assist with inventory management, and support kitchen operations as needed
• Maintain professional conduct aligned with company policies and state and federal regulations

What We're Looking For

• Professional experience as a Cook, line cook, or in a food preparation kitchen
• Solid knowledge of cooking techniques, meat preparation, and grill work
• Ability to multitask and manage priorities in a fast-paced kitchen environment
• Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
• Reliable, team-oriented work style and positive attitude
• Availability to work variable shifts, including evenings and weekends
• Dedication to maintaining high quality standards
