About the Role
As a Class A HAZMAT Truck Driver with Clean Harbors in South Plainfield, you will operate a wide range of heavy- and light-duty trucks and specialized work equipment across customer locations. Day to day, you may run vacuum trucks, Cuscos, guzzlers, and roll-off units while supporting hazardous waste clean-up projects. This is a hands-on, full-time position that blends skilled driving with field labor, and it includes travel, on-call availability, and emergency response duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A vehicles and equipment, including vacuum trucks, Cuscos, guzzlers, and roll-offs.
- Carry out both driving and non-driving tasks on and off customer sites tied to hazardous waste removal and clean-up.
- Respond to emergency call-outs and travel to project locations as assignments require.
- Follow all safety protocols and regulatory standards for handling and transporting hazardous materials.
- Maintain accurate documentation and support the field team throughout each job.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with HAZMAT endorsement.
- Comfortable operating heavy and light duty trucks and related work equipment.
- Willingness to travel, work on-call, and participate in emergency response when needed.
- Able to perform physical, non-driving labor at customer sites in varying conditions.
- Commitment to working safely and adhering to hazardous waste handling procedures.
