Role Overview
U.S. Xpress - OTR is seeking experienced Class A CDL Company Drivers for our Over-The-Road (OTR) division. As a Dry Van driver, you will be responsible for delivering freight across the United States with an average of 52-56 miles per mile paid (CPM). Solo drivers can expect to drive approximately 2,000 miles per week on average, and top 20% of OTR Drivers earn $1,650 weekly. The role involves driving for 12 days out and 2 days home, with no touch freight and access to newer equipment.
Core Duties
- Drive dry van trucks across the United States
- Deliver freight according to schedule and route instructions
- Ensure safe operation of the vehicle at all times
- Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle
- Adhere to all company policies, safety regulations, and DOT requirements
- Communicate with dispatch for any necessary updates or issues during transit
What You Bring
- A valid Class A CDL with appropriate endorsements (H, X)
- 1-5 months of OTR driving experience
- Strong safety record and clean driving history
- Ability to work independently and manage long hours on the road
- Good communication skills for interacting with dispatch and customers
