What This Role Involves

This role involves providing high-quality care and support to children with complex needs in a residential setting. You will be responsible for creating a safe and nurturing environment that meets the physical, emotional, and social needs of the children under your care.

• Assisting with daily routines such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and recreational activities
• Supporting medication management and health monitoring in collaboration with healthcare professionals
• Facilitating communication between staff members, families, and external agencies to ensure a coordinated approach to care
• Participating in regular team meetings and training sessions to enhance your skills and knowledge

Your Responsibilities

As a Residential Support Worker, you will be responsible for:

• Maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the residential environment
• Supporting children in developing life skills and independence
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to address the diverse needs of the children
• Documenting observations, incidents, and progress notes accurately and promptly
• Adhering to all policies and procedures related to child protection and safeguarding

What We're Looking For

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual with the following qualities:

• A minimum of 18 years old, with no upper age limit
• A caring nature and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on children's lives
• Basic qualifications in care or related fields (e.g., Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care)
• Previous experience working with children or vulnerable adults is desirable but not essential
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Able to work as part of a team and independently when required
