What This Role Involves

The role of a Cook at Ascolta Early Learning and Care in Duncraig involves preparing nutritious meals for the children under your care. You will be responsible for ensuring all kitchen areas are clean and hygienic, as well as managing inventory and ordering supplies. Your duties include meal planning, food preparation, cooking, and serving meals to the children on a daily basis.

What You'll Do

• Prepare and cook nutritious meals for children in line with dietary requirements and preferences
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen area at all times
• Ensure food safety practices are adhered to, including proper storage and handling of ingredients
• Plan meals that cater to various dietary needs and preferences
• Order and manage inventory of kitchen supplies and ingredients efficiently
• Work closely with the centre staff to ensure a smooth operation during meal times

What We're Looking For

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Cook who is passionate about providing high-quality meals for children. Key requirements include:

• Proven experience as a cook in a similar setting, preferably within the childcare industry
• A strong understanding of food safety practices and regulations
• The ability to plan and prepare meals that cater to various dietary needs
• Good organizational skills for managing inventory and supplies
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills to work effectively with other staff members
• A flexible schedule, as the role involves working Monday to Friday from 7:00am to 1:00pm (30 hours per week)
