About This Position

The City of Gold Coast is seeking a Casual Horticulturist to join the Open Space Maintenance team. The role involves providing maintenance services for parks and recreational facilities, ensuring they are maintained to high standards as per Partnering Agreements with Asset Custodians.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Maintain parks and recreational areas to a high standard of cleanliness and aesthetics
• Perform regular inspections and maintenance tasks on plants, trees, and landscaping features
• Assist in the planning and implementation of horticultural projects
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and best practices
• Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve service objectives

What We're Looking For

• A minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar horticultural role
• Strong understanding of plant care and landscaping principles
• Experience working with various tools and equipment used in horticulture
• A valid driver's license for site-to-site travel as required
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays if necessary
• Excellent physical fitness to perform manual tasks and lift heavy objects
