Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Bus Operator Trainee to join our team at Hampton Roads Transit. This full-time position offers an hourly wage of $23.00 and includes comprehensive benefits such as medical, dental, vision coverage, and a pension plan.
Responsibilities
- Operate Agency revenue service vehicles safely, including 29 to 40 ft buses used in public transportation across the cities of Chesapeake, Hampton, Newport News, Norfolk, Portsmouth, and Virginia Beach.
- Acknowledge and follow all safety protocols and regulations related to bus operations.
- Ensure the cleanliness and proper maintenance of assigned vehicles.
- Provide excellent customer service to passengers during transit.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements.
- Prior experience in public transportation or related field is preferred but not required.
- A strong commitment to safety and customer service.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
