The Opportunity

Potential with Quanex is seeking a dedicated Extruder Operator Trainee for the 1st shift at our location in Winnebago, IL. This role involves working as part of a team and independently to run and maintain assigned extruder machines, producing high-quality window and door parts that meet customer specifications while minimizing waste.

Responsibilities

• Run and maintain extruder machines to produce quality window and door parts
• Work as part of a team and independently on the production line
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and best practices in the manufacturing process
• Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as necessary
• Participate in training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred but not required
• Aptitude for learning new machinery and processes quickly
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions carefully
• Ability to work effectively in a team setting as well as independently
