About the Role
This full-time co-op gives you real-world experience in digital audience journalism at a major New England news organization. You'll contribute to Boston.com's mission of building and engaging a loyal, active readership across the Boston area and beyond, working directly with our newsroom team to develop content strategies and community engagement initiatives.
What You'll Do
- Develop and execute audience engagement strategies that drive reader participation and community interaction
- Create and pitch story ideas with audience interest and engagement potential at the forefront
- Collaborate with reporters, editors, and digital teams to identify emerging audience interests and trends
- Monitor and analyze audience data and feedback to refine content and engagement approaches
- Contribute original reporting and help fact-check and develop stories for publication
- Support newsroom operations with research, social media strategy, and community engagement
What We're Looking For
- Currently enrolled as a full-time college or university student
- Genuine passion for journalism and interest in how modern news organizations engage audiences
- Strong collaborative skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced newsroom environment
- Excellent writing, research, and communication abilities
- Comfort with digital platforms, analytics tools, and social media
- A portfolio of journalism work (optional but welcome)
