Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Shop Manager to join our team at our new Red Cross shop in Albany. This is a key support role where you will step in as second-in-charge when the Shop Manager is away. You'll be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, managing staff, and ensuring the store runs smoothly during your shifts on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the management of the shop's daily operations
- Oversee staff and ensure they are performing their duties effectively
- Manage inventory levels and assist with stock replenishment
- Ensure all sales transactions are accurate and processed promptly
- Handle customer inquiries and complaints professionally
- Support the Shop Manager in planning and implementing marketing strategies
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for customers
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in retail management or a related field
- A strong understanding of customer service principles
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including Thursday, Friday, and Saturday shifts
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office or similar software packages
- A current New Zealand driver's license (as travel may be required)
