What This Role Involves
As Assistant Service Manager at OpenRoad Toyota Port Moody, you'll play a key role in delivering exceptional service experiences to our customers and leading our technical team. You'll work closely with the Service Manager to oversee daily operations, ensure quality standards are met, and help drive customer satisfaction across all service interactions. This position bridges the gap between front-line service staff and management, making it ideal for someone ready to step into a larger leadership role.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Coordinate service scheduling, job assignments, and workflow to maximize efficiency and customer satisfaction
- Oversee service operations and quality assurance, ensuring all work meets OpenRoad's high standards
- Communicate with customers regarding service status, recommendations, and estimates
- Support technicians and service advisors, troubleshooting challenges and resolving issues promptly
- Monitor key service metrics, productivity, and customer feedback to identify improvement opportunities
- Assist with staff training, mentoring, and performance management alongside the Service Manager
- Help maintain a welcoming service environment that reflects OpenRoad's commitment to customer relationships
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in automotive service, dealership operations, or related management roles
- Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and organizational abilities
- Strong communication skills with customers and team members
- Knowledge of service processes, vehicle systems, and customer-focused service delivery
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and remain calm under pressure
- Proficiency with dealership management systems and computer applications
