Pleasantville Community School District is looking for an experienced Assistant Junior High Football Coach to join our athletics program in Pleasantville, Marion County for the upcoming season. This part-time coaching position offers the opportunity to mentor young athletes and contribute to a strong football program in our community.
About the Role
As an Assistant Junior High Football Coach, you'll work alongside our head coach to develop young football talent and foster athletic excellence. This is an anticipated vacancy, and we're seeking someone with the coaching experience and passion to make a real difference in our athletes' development.
What You'll Do
- Assist in developing and executing practice plans and game strategies
- Provide direct instruction and feedback to student-athletes on technique and fundamentals
- Support player conditioning and tactical understanding of the game
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and promote injury prevention
- Model positive behavior and sportsmanship on and off the field
- Collaborate with the head coach and other coaching staff members
- Contribute to a positive team culture focused on discipline and personal growth
What We're Looking For
- Coaching experience in football or a related sport
- Knowledge of football fundamentals, rules, and coaching principles
- Ability to communicate effectively with junior high-aged athletes
- Commitment to student-athlete development and safety
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Willingness to work collaboratively with the coaching staff
