About the Role

As an Assistant Designer for Women's Woven Tops & Dresses at Levi Strauss in San Francisco, you'll support the design process from early concept through to finished product. Working closely with senior designers, merchandising, and development partners, you'll contribute to a category that blends heritage craftsmanship with modern, forward-looking style.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist senior designers in developing seasonal collections of women's woven tops and dresses, from initial inspiration to final samples.
• Prepare design sketches, technical flats, and detailed specifications to communicate intent to product development teams.
• Research trends, fabrics, trims, and color directions that align with the brand's aesthetic and customer.
• Maintain organized design boards, line sheets, and reference materials throughout each development cycle.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with merchandising, technical design, and production to keep projects moving on schedule.
• Help review fit samples and contribute feedback to refine construction, proportion, and detailing.

Qualifications

• Background in fashion design or a related field, with a focus on women's apparel.
• Strong sketching skills and proficiency with design software such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Working knowledge of woven garment construction, fabrics, and fit.
• Sharp attention to detail, strong organization, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• A collaborative, curious mindset and genuine passion for design and trend.
• Comfortable working on-site in San Francisco as part of a full-time team.
