About the Role
The H.D. Karns Innovations Academy is seeking a part-time Art Teacher to join our team. This position is based at the H.D. Karns Building and will support secondary education in an innovative learning environment.
What You'll Do
- Instruct students in various art techniques, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and digital media.
- Create a positive and engaging classroom atmosphere that fosters creativity and critical thinking.
- Develop lesson plans aligned with state educational standards and the school's curriculum goals.
- Evaluate student progress through assessments and provide constructive feedback to enhance learning outcomes.
- Collaborate with other teachers, administrators, and community partners to support students' overall development.
Who We're Looking For
- A current Kansas Teaching Certificate with an appropriate endorsement in Art Education.
- Demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate students of diverse backgrounds.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective classroom management and parent-teacher communications.
- Experience in integrating technology into the curriculum is a plus but not required.
