About the Role

Working within the Division of Academic Affairs, the Academic Champion delivers personalized, whole-student advising paired with hands-on, intensive case management for Freshman and Sophomore students at Talladega College. The position centers on two distinct and high-priority student groups: members of the Band who balance demanding performance schedules and frequent travel, and students enrolled in the N.A.D.O. Program who were admitted on a conditional basis. Your mission is to help each student stay on track, recover academically when needed, and build the habits that lead to long-term success.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide individualized, holistic academic advising to first- and second-year students.
• Carry out detailed case management for students in the Band and the N.A.D.O. Program.
• Support Band members in balancing rigorous rehearsal, performance, and travel commitments with their coursework.
• Guide conditionally admitted N.A.D.O. students toward meeting academic benchmarks and improving their standing.
• Monitor progress, identify students at risk, and coordinate timely academic recovery interventions.
• Collaborate with faculty and staff across the Division of Academic Affairs to strengthen student outcomes.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities for working one-on-one with students and partnering with campus colleagues.
