About This Position
As ABL Underwriting Portfolio Manager at Wintrust in Chicago, you will manage critical asset-based lending portfolios, blending disciplined underwriting judgment with strategic portfolio stewardship. You'll make key decisions on new loan opportunities, monitor portfolio health, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards while building lasting client relationships that support Wintrust's growth in the ABL space.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate ABL loan applications and lead underwriting decisions through comprehensive financial analysis and collateral assessment
- Monitor assigned loan portfolios for early risk identification and performance optimization
- Review financial statements, collateral valuations, and borrower documentation to inform credit decisions
- Ensure portfolio compliance with regulatory requirements and internal risk policies
- Partner with sales, operations, and client service teams to support loan origination and ongoing account management
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior team members on underwriting standards and best practices
What You Bring
- Proven experience in asset-based lending underwriting, commercial credit, or related portfolio management
- Deep expertise in ABL lending structures, collateral types, and risk evaluation methods
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex financial information
- Sound credit judgment and demonstrated decision-making in underwriting environments
- Excellent communication and relationship management capabilities
