Garland Independent School District is hiring a Secretary for our Counselors Office to support the daily operations and student services at Memorial Pathway Academy. This full-time position plays a critical role in managing front-office functions, scheduling, and administrative support that keeps our school running smoothly.

About the Role

As Secretary for the Counselors Office, you'll be the backbone of our campus administrative operations. Working from the main office at Memorial Pathway Academy, you'll coordinate schedules, manage communications, maintain records, and provide essential support to our counseling and administrative teams. This position operates on a school calendar (193 days per year) and is classified at Pay Grade P14.

What You'll Do

• Manage scheduling and calendar coordination for counselors, staff meetings, and parent conferences
• Answer phones, greet visitors, and direct inquiries to appropriate staff members
• Process and organize student records, transcripts, and confidential documentation with attention to privacy requirements
• Maintain filing systems and databases for attendance, grades, and student information
• Generate reports, letters, and administrative correspondence
• Coordinate communication between school staff, students, families, and external partners
• Assist with clerical tasks including copying, scanning, and data entry
• Support special events, parent meetings, and school functions as needed

What We're Looking For

• High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
• Certified Educational Office Professional (CEOP) certification (preferred)
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and educational software systems
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Discretion and ability to handle confidential student information
• Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping
• Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced school environment
