What This Role Involves

At PlanetScale, we are reinventing the database space with a platform that offers developers the fastest and most reliable Postgres and Vitess+MySQL databases. We're seeking a Developer Educator who will bring our technical expertise to life by creating engaging content, speaking at conferences, and building our engineering community.

Key Responsibilities

• Create technical content to help customers and engineers learn about Postgres, MySQL, Vitess, Neki, and the PlanetScale ecosystem.
• Speak at conferences and events, representing PlanetScale in the database and engineering community.
• Create and refine product documentation.
• Host livestreams and webinars to engage with and educate our community.
• Possibly travel 20-50% of the time for developer events worldwide.

Requirements

• Taught complex technical concepts in accessible ways.
• Loves learning about and explaining full-stack application development, databases, and compute infrastructure.
• A natural communicator who can adapt your message for different audiences.
<li,Thrives in community settings and enjoys building relationships with developers.
• Has excellent writing skills and produces content that engineers actually want to read.
• Self-motivated and capable of managing multiple projects independently.
• Enjoys experimenting and exploring new technologies.
